The Notary Doula
Where Professionalism & Convenience Meet at the Table

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern your use of notarial services provided by The Notary Doula, a mobile and remote notary service provider operating in Texas. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

1. Services Provided

The Notary Doula offers:

  • Mobile Notary Services (in-person notarizations at a designated location)
  • Remote Online Notarization (RON), where allowed by law
  • Loan Signing Agent Services
  • Notary services for estate planning, funeral directives, and real estate documents

All notarial acts will be performed in compliance with applicable state laws.

2. Client Responsibilities

You, the client, agree to:

  • Present valid, government-issued photo identification at the time of notarization.
  • Ensure that all documents are complete before meeting with the notary.
  • Confirm that all signers are mentally competent, willing, and able to sign.
  • Provide required witnesses if not pre-arranged through The Notary Doula.

The Notary Doula reserves the right to refuse service if any of the above conditions are not met.

3. Scheduling and Cancellation

Appointments may be scheduled via phone, email, or online booking system.
Cancellation Policy:

  • Mobile Appointments: Must be canceled at least 4 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.
  • RON Sessions: Must be canceled at least 2 hours in advance.

Late cancellations and no-shows may be subject to a non-refundable fee.

4. Fees and Payment

Fees are outlined during the booking process and vary based on document type, travel distance, and services requested. Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Cash
  • Credit/Debit Card
  • Zelle, CashApp, or other mobile payment platforms

Note: Additional travel fees or after-hours surcharges may apply.

5. Limitations of Service

The Notary Doula is not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice.
If you require help understanding or preparing legal documents, you will be referred to a licensed attorney.

Our notaries are not responsible for the content, legality, or completeness of the documents presented for notarization.

6. Privacy & Confidentiality

All information shared is kept confidential to the extent required by law. Your documents will never be shared with third parties without your express written consent, unless required by law or subpoena.

Electronic records and digital communications are handled through secure platforms compliant with applicable state RON regulations.

7. Liability Disclaimer

The Notary Doula and its representatives shall not be held liable for:

  • Improper execution due to incomplete or fraudulent documents
  • Rejection of notarized documents by third parties due to pre-existing errors or omissions
  • Any delays or costs resulting from errors in documents not prepared by The Notary Doula

Our maximum liability is limited to the total fee paid for the specific notarization.

8. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of [Insert State]. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.

9. Amendments

We reserve the right to update or revise these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified via email or website update when such changes occur.
