We’ll review your itemized quote and cancellation terms before collecting the $35 reservation payment, which is applied to your total. Inquiries and quotes are free.

Your service authorization may be signed electronically through SignWell before your appointment or on paper when we arrive, before service begins. Please let us know if you need large print or would like the form read aloud.

Have your complete document and acceptable identification ready for each signer, such as a current driver’s license, state-issued identification card, or U.S. passport. Each person whose signature will be notarized must be present.

Please tell us beforehand about any witness requirements, special signing instructions, or accessibility needs. If you do not have current identification, call before booking so we can discuss whether another permitted identification method is available.

Please wait until we confirm the signing instructions for your notarization. Some notarial acts require you to sign in the notary’s presence.

If you have already signed, let us know before your appointment. Whether you need to sign again depends on the notarial act requested.

What if I don’t know which document I need?

Start with the organization requesting the document or a licensed attorney who can advise you about your situation. The Notary Doula does not select, draft, or recommend legal documents.

If you need help organizing your wishes, identifying questions, or preparing for broader planning conversations, Affairs Readiness® through The Doula Experience is a separate service. Legal document selection and legal advice remain with a licensed attorney.

We can print a document you provide or obtain a specific form you have identified. Printing is $2 per page, and additional ordinary copies are $1 per page. Work to obtain a client-selected form is quoted before it is performed.

If you bring your prepared document and request no printing or copies, those charges do not apply.

The Notary Doula does not select, draft, or advise on legal documents. Questions about which legal document you need should be directed to a licensed attorney.

The Notary Doula provides mobile appointments in Houston and surrounding areas, including visits to homes, hospitals, care facilities, and other agreed locations.

Yes. A $35 reservation payment secures your mobile appointment after we review your itemized quote and cancellation terms with you.

The payment is credited toward your quoted total. It is not an additional fee and is separate from how any applicable convenience fee is calculated.

The remaining balance is due when service is completed unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Your total depends on your appointment location, booking notice, required notarial acts, and any additional services you request. We provide an itemized quote before you book.

Travel fees:
• Up to 10 miles: $35
• Over 10–20 miles: $50
• Over 20–30 miles: $65
• Over 30–40 miles: $85
• Additional mileage: Quoted upon request

Mobile convenience fees:
• 24 hours or more notice: No convenience fee
• At least 2 hours but less than 24 hours: $35
• Less than 2 hours: $50

Only one convenience fee applies per appointment. Short-notice appointments are subject to availability.

Notarial fees and any requested printing or other services are itemized separately. Your $35 reservation payment is deducted from the total.

Can you notarize a power of attorney, will, or advance directive?

We can perform the requested notarization for a prepared document when the applicable notarial requirements are met. Please tell us the document type and share any signing or witness instructions before booking.

These documents can have different execution requirements. Notarization alone does not establish that a document is legally valid or replace required witnesses. For questions about what your document needs or whether it fits your wishes, consult the attorney who prepared it or another licensed attorney.

An apostille is an official certificate used to authenticate the origin of a public document for use in another country. It does not verify the document’s contents.

The Notary Doula offers administrative coordination for apostille requests. Tell us what document you have, where it was issued, and the country where it will be used so we can review the service needed and provide a quote.

The Texas Secretary of State issues Texas apostilles. Our coordination fee, government fees, and delivery charges are listed separately when applicable. Processing times and acceptance depend on the relevant authorities.

Do you offer loan signing services?

Yes. The Notary Doula offers loan signing appointments, subject to availability and the instructions provided by your lender, title company, or signing service.

We assist with the signing process and perform the required notarizations. Questions about loan terms, interest rates, closing costs, or legal obligations should be directed to your lender, title company, or attorney. Appointment details and fees are confirmed before booking.

Cancel at least four hours before your appointment for a full refund of your $35 reservation payment. For a later cancellation or no-show, the $35 payment is retained for the time reserved.

If you book less than four hours before your appointment, you may cancel within 15 minutes of booking for a full reservation refund, provided the notary has not departed. Once either the 15-minute period has ended or the notary has departed, the $35 reservation payment is retained.

For a canceled appointment, we do not add travel or convenience fees to the retained reservation payment. Separate work you authorized and we completed, such as printing, remains payable.

If The Notary Doula cancels, you receive a full refund of payments for the canceled appointment. No notarial fee is charged for an act that was not performed.

Please contact us before the cancellation deadline to request rescheduling. Availability and any changes to your quote will be confirmed with you.
